About ABC Cachets
After many months of discovering and organizing, it’s here!
Al “Tag” Boerger had an eagle eye for collectibles; he knew a good thing when he saw it and bought it. He was forever adding to his collection as well as making his own covers.
ABC Cachets is a composite of Al’s cachets and his collection. Al started his stamp store in Toledo, OH. With a true interest in history in the making, combined with a love of philately, Al became a renowned cachet maker and collector. His interest further deepened, as he became a pioneer and expert in the history of tagging, seen among other places in his three handbooks on U.S. Luminescent stamps.
Al was in his 70’s when he became interested in the new and latest way of doing things – computers. Al, Carolyn and her mom all learned together when they took a class on Excel at the local college. Al always loved to show off his latest endevour, especially computer art work he found, which would help in designing new cachets. And to think: now there is a website of ABC Cachets, and the webmaster is his grandson, Shawn. Al would be so proud!
Carolyn is a member of APS and AFDCS. Formerly a member of the Robert C. Graebner FDC Club (chapter 17), she currently is a member of the Jacksonville Stamp Collectors Club.
